Foundation

In producing, the foundation is what grounds a song and gives it a center to cling to. Musically, that's oftentimes a bass or kick drum.

In my college journey, my foundation has been academics.

Throughout my time at UW I have been able to expand into many academic areas due to the interdisciplinary nature of my major, International Studies, and my time in the Honors program.

The following courses were chosen because they have meant the most to my own journey of growing, both as a person and a student. Learning is, after all, what I came here to do.

These are a testament to my success.

HONORS 230

the first step

"nobody can save the world, but any of us can help set in motion a self-saving world"

Soder's Honors 230 "Leadership, Democracy, and a More Thoughtful Public" course proved to be a challenging first step on my university journey. It made me think of America, leadership, and politics in ways I had never thought of before. In addition to the course's content, I learned many things about myself as a student, discovering weaknesses and strengths that were relevant over all 3 years.

I left this course with a new sense of responsibility, but also feeling better prepared to bear that responsibility. This was the first step towards becoming a better leader and a more thoughtful individual.
