Foundation

In producing, the foundation is what grounds a song and gives it a center to cling to. Musically, that's oftentimes a bass or kick drum.

​

In my college journey, my foundation has been academics.

Throughout my time at UW I have been able to expand into many academic areas due to the interdisciplinary nature of my major, International Studies, and my time in the Honors program. 

​

The following courses were chosen because they have meant the most to my own journey of growing, both as a person and a student. Learning is, after all, what I came here to do.

These are a testament to my success.

HONORS 230

the first step

"nobody can save the world, but any of us can help set in motion a self-saving world"

Soder's Honors 230 "Leadership, Democracy, and a More Thoughtful Public" course proved to be a challenging first step on my university journey. It made me think of America, leadership, and politics in ways I had never thought of before. In addition to the course's content, I learned many things about myself as a student, discovering weaknesses and strengths that were relevant over all 3 years.

 

​I left this course with a new sense of responsibility, but also feeling better prepared to bear that responsibility. This was the first step towards becoming a better leader and a more thoughtful individual.
