The rhythm is a key part of what adds movement and excitement to a song. Musically that can be many things, but often is realized through drum sub-sections like hi-hats and shakers.

Music has been the rhythm of my college journey. Playing, writing, performing - music has been a key vessel for my creative identity. For the first year of college I wasn't able to access music very much due to time, space, and tool restraints. However in my second year I realized that I needed to learn to prioritize music in order to give it space in my life.

I've begun to put more time and effort into music since then, first taking piano lessons, then moving onto becoming a better music producer. Now I am actively working on developing my skills, writing more music, and figuring out how to build an audience.

MUSIC

Music has always been in my life. I first truly began to play when I was 7, but I was 11 when I started spending hours every day playing on my little keyboard and writing songs. I've been on and off with music throughout the years, but it's always there in the background, and always waiting for me to come back during the times I go away.

—  First Love

In spite of the struggles and loss that have resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic, I've been grateful for the opportunity it has given me to put more focus onto being creative and developing my craft.

I spent a significant portion of 2020 playing and writing music, and continue that pursuit in 2021.
